Chris taught me how to shoot awesome photos in manual without overcomplicating it. He had a ‘no faff’ approach, which allowed me to learn the necessary technical stuff in a short period of time. I now make good money from my photography work. Thanks Chris!

Chris Barr’s teaching style is relaxed and friendly, building his students confidence whilst offering gentle guidance. His laid back approach to teaching belies an encyclopaedic knowledge of photography; from artists to angles and everything in between. By putting his students at ease and showing them, at a moments notice, relevant work that has gone before theirs or techniques that can bring their ideas to life, Chris draws out the critically thinking photographer in his students whilst pushing them to grow in the technical aspects of the craft.
My time under Mr Barr’s tutelage was invaluable and my photography continues to develop upon the excellent foundations of confidence, technical ability and critical awareness he instilled.
I’d very much appreciate a chat when you can manage it, feeling very cast adrift and lost now that I’ve graduated. I came first in the year so the PhD push is mighty... I’d rather take photos, but I’ve no idea how to/if I can make that pay.
Thanks again for everything

I first met Christopher at a Lightroom course in Belfast Exposed. He seemed genuinely interested in every individual he came across. He was enthusiastic, helpful and encouraging. He has helped me to grow in confidence as an artistic photographer.
— J Joyce
Been to several of Chris’ classes and he has been very inspiring, encouraging, supportive and a great teacher. His knowledge of photography as an art form and career is second to none.
— Frankie Cooke
I joined Chris’s class with an interest in photography and finished with a passion which changed the course of my life.
I learned the technical details, but more importantly that the technical is merely a pathway to creating a meaningful image.
His teaching style is relaxed and informative and his lovely personality makes learning interesting and inclusive. I gained the confidence in my work that allowed me to pursue my now career in wedding photography.
I cannot recommend Chris as a tutor highly enough. He will make you question yourself, your assumptions about photography and you will doubtless strive to seek more from your work.
Thanks Chris!!
